What to expect
A charger runs at high load for hours, so it needs its own circuit and the right protection. A power point and an extension lead won't do.
We check your switchboard can supply it, install the circuit and charger, and test it before we leave. If the board needs work first, we quote that as part of the same job.

Questions we get asked about EV chargers.
Can I just use a normal power point?
We don't recommend it for regular charging. A dedicated charger on its own circuit is built for long, high-load use and is protected properly.
Will my switchboard handle a charger?
Often, but not always. We check capacity on the visit and quote any upgrade with the charger.
Can I charge from my solar?
Yes. If you have solar, the charger can use it. If you're planning solar, tell us so we can size the system with the car in mind.
Do you install chargers for businesses?
Yes, at workplaces as well as homes. Tell us how many bays and we'll quote it.
